I’ve really neglected this blog as the school year picked up. Transferring to Cornell has been one of the most wonderful experiences of my life, but it’s also left me incredibly busy. But here I am again, giving you guys a little bit of an update on my life: I’m in Madrid! This year for spring break, I am lucky enough to be wandering the streets of one of the most beautiful cities in Europe with my boyfriend. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep you guys updated on a semi-regular basis, but I am going to be busy exploring, going to museums, and getting lost.
Before we left for Madrid, Spain, we had a lot of difficulties. Justin’s passport expired and we didn’t find out until the day before we were supposed to leave. It was stressful as hell, but we were able to get his passport expressed. After hopping on the 6:50am bus from Ithaca to New York, we made it to his aunt’s office at 12:45pm. One taxi cab and a hell of a lot of traffic later, at 2pm we made it to New York Passport Services, and by 5:00pm, Justin had a shiny new passport… which means that the next time we have to worry about this happening is in 2025. I’m crossing my fingers that this doesn’t happen again though. I was nearly ready to strangle a person.
Finally, the day of our 11pm flight to the city of our dreams, we had a relaxing day having brunch with my aunt in this wonderful restaurant — Le Petit Café. We didn’t want to wait an hour for the restaurant we did have a reservation for, so we walked around and stumbled on this wonderful place. At first I thought it was a small café with a few seats, but then we were led to the back room, and it was like we entered an old Italian city in Tuscany. The décor was simply beautiful, and I can’t wait to bring my friends here in the future!
I love your blog, your posts are beautiful! I just followed you, it would be great if we can support each other 🙂 I am so glad I got to discover you ❤
