I’ve done a lot of shopping at ASOS recently. I really love ASOS because they have so many petite options from their in house brand as well as the outside brands they carry. However I have noticed that as the years have passed the quality of the clothes has been ever so slightly declining while their pricing remains the same.
Some overall gripes I have are that the material is often thin, the zippers on the pants are a bit too short, and all of their shoes are way too big.
It’s incredibly important to pay attention to the fabric used in the clothes your buying from ASOS. Polyester is my absolute pet peeve and I’m trying to avoid clingy fabric like viscose as well. However at the end of the day it depends on what you want the piece for. While I don’t like viscose, there are some pieces that work really well with the fabric.
When buying pants and skirts the 00P fits me perfectly in the waist, but anything with a zipper is a bit of a struggle to get in. My hips are a bit too wide to fit into the pants I have, and I’m a bit paranoid of ripping the seams or fabric. This could all be fixed really easily if their zippers extended half an inch longer.
What disappoints me the most about ASOS is the sizing of their shoes. I’m solidly a US 5.5. But ASOS shoes are so over sized that this time I tried to buy shoes in a 5. Even after that, out of all the shoes I got only one pair fit properly.
Anyway, let’s get right into the individual pieces. You can view a short video of me wearing the clothes on my YouTube channel, but here you’ll find a more detailed take on each piece.

I’ve been looking for new striped shirt for a while. The fabric is really soft but it’s tight around the arm holes. Additionally it’s a bit long on me. It’s a great looking piece but not something that’s going to last longer than two years.

This is a great piece if you’re looking for something 80s inspired, but not what I was looking for. The drop shoulder style is really unflattering. I loved Stranger Things, but I’m not trying to fit in with the cast.

I love the unique color of these loafers and how comfortable and soft the leather is. The shoes are a bit too big but if I wear two pairs of socks and walk veeeeery carefully it works.

The last time I got boots from ASOS in a size 5 they were way too small on me so I thought I’d buy a size 5.5 in case the other pair were too small. However, these were incredibly large as well and were almost too big on my mom.

I’m absolutely in love with this dress. It’s a bit on the pricer side, but I feel so sexy in it. The sleeves are unique, the cut is incredibly flattering, and this dress is unlike anything else I own. If you get anything on in this blog post, get this dress.

I love the ruching around the chest on this dress, and it has a very flattering silhouette. I wish the fabric was a little less stretchy and more structured.

This skirt is dramatically over priced especially because the quality is only so-so. However, I really wanted a simple black skirt to wear to work.

These are some of my favorite pants to wear to work. However, the fabric is thinner than I’d like and the color is more gray than black. If you’re short like me and you want to try culotte pants, these are a good start.

I thought these pants would be a really interesting piece to add to my work wardrobe, but after I put them on I felt frumpy and unattractive. They’re too loose around the legs but the buckle makes them look a bit like haram pants. Additionally the fabric is incredibly thin. The fact that they tried to sell these pants for $51 is hilarious.
Please let me know where your favorite places to shop are and what pieces you’ve been eyeing this winter! I hope that you found this more detailed break down of my ASOS haul helpful. This is more of a companion post to my video, but hopefully I’ll be able to post more unique content in 2018.
If you’ve gotten this far into this wall of text, just know that I love and appreciate you.
Have a happy and healthy 2018,
Jamie
SO HAPPY YOURE BLOGGING AGAIN! One of my blogger friends is always raving about ASOS, but I’ve been skeptical. This post pretty much proves my point; you had to return so many items! Good to know that their quality isn’t all that jazz, I’ll stick to my usual Forever21 lol.

AHHH I LOVE YOU. Things have been so busy but I’m trying to get back into the groove of things.
ASOS is my go-to but only because Forever 21 doesn’t carry sizes small enough for me and other petite brands are way too expensive.
The plus side is that ASOS has GREAT customer service. Return shipping is free and they accepted some shoes I forgot to send back in October!
